HOUSTON – A woman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds inside a car in the Alief area of Houston and authorities are searching for a suspect.
It happened at 4301 S. Kirkwood around 1:17 p.m.
Authorities say the woman was inside her car when a man in a white, newer model Jeep Renegade pulled up in the street behind the woman and got out of his car.
A detective at the scene says the man, described as heavy-set, 5′8, and in his forties, approached the woman in her car. She rolled down her window at which time the man shot her point blank.
The detective said the man then began to walk away, but came back and shot the woman again at least twice before returning to his vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Authorities said they were able to get the description of the suspect and vehicle from a witness who saw the incident while they were leaving a nearby church.
Police are currently trying to identify the victim as well as the suspect.
