HOUSTON – Some areas saw a good amount of rain yesterday.
The next week looks pretty quiet in the weather department for Houston although it will be warm.

Rainfall totals from overnight
As mentioned, some areas of southeast Texas saw a pretty good soaking rain last night. While Houston itself as well as areas south of I-10 didn’t see a whole lot of rain, you didn’t have to go too far to the north to see some nice rainfall totals.
Both Conroe and Huntsville saw over an inch of rain, which Livingston had over two inches, The big winner of rainfall totals last night was Brenham, which saw an estimated three inches of rain.
While Houston hasn’t seen that many days of measurable rainfall in April, we are still almost half an inch over our normal average for the month. Yesterday’s 1.17 inch of measurable rainfall at Bush Intercontinental Airport became the fourth day of measured rain in the month of April.
The week ahead
Monday through next Saturday looks very nice in terms of sunshine. Temperatures will remain cool Monday following the passage of the cold front overnight Sunday.
We don’t see our next chance of rainfall until next Sunday. Right now, we have kept rainfall chances on the low side, but we will keep an eye on it and modify the chances as we get closer.
As temperatures increase this week, they will be adding to an already warmer than average April for Houston. Outside of just a few days, we have seen temperatures above average most every day this month. By the end of the week, we should be pushing back into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
