Galveston Police investigating death of 2-month-old baby girl

GALVESTON, Texas – The Galveston Police Department is investigating the death of a 2-month-old baby girl.

Police were called to the 2900 block of Avenue M at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports about an unconscious infant.

The child was transported via Galveston EMS to the UTMB Health Trauma Center in Galveston where lifesaving efforts were performed.

Despite the efforts, the child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

“Due to the nature of the incident, officers and investigators with the Galveston Police Department are reviewing the case. At this time there is no additional information available until a cause of death has been determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office,” the department said.
